You believe that software test engineering is way more than just implementing test cases. You know that designing and implementing great, scalable, automated testing is as hard, challenging, and valuable as any other software engineering. You love to partner with application engineers in devising the best ways to produce fast, meaningful, and scalable test suites.

As an intern at Lyke you work with modern tools and frameworks in a very collaborative environment with highly skilled and motivated colleagues. Within a short amount of time you will implement automated tests in languages like Go, Python, Java and JavaScript using frameworks and tools like Protractor, Karma, TestNg, Appium and others

This is a paid internship (we believe in pay for good work). We are looking for an intern who wants to work at Lyke on an ongoing basis (not just 3 months), so you must be local to the Jakarta Area. We prefer for this position to be full time, but you need to be available at least 20 hours per week for this to be productive.

Responsibilities

1. Write code to automate test mobile application using Appium
2. Write code to automate test Restful API using Jmeter and postman
3. Keep the automation framework updated for the latest application technologies AND testing technologies.
4. Design, implement and execute test cases for new and existing features. We believe that designing and implementing scalable test suites is challenging, rewarding, and worth-while (just like building any other good piece of software).
5. Work with Product and Engineering teams to gather requirements, build testing solutions and troubleshoot issues in order to deliver a high quality product.
6. Do Manual Testing for our mobile applications
7. Be a significant contributor to Lyke’s smart, fast-paced, and growing Quality engineering team.

Required Skills

1. Ability to think of ways to break the code and write automated test cases
2. Solid object-oriented programming skills, preferably in JavaScript and Java
3. A good amount of programming experience other than coursework at school: A game you’ve written, a prior internship where you contributed code to a product.
4. You are closing in on your degree in computer science, software engineering, or a closely related field.
5. Solid understanding of data structures and algorithms.

Nice to Have

1. Familiar with distributed systems on Amazon’s AWS, including SQS, S3, SES and others.
2. Familiar with browser side programming using frameworks like backbone.js or angular.js.
3. Familiar with automated deployment tools and frameworks like Jenkins, Travis.
4. Experience with, or an interest in analytics and data visualization.
