Dear prospective students,
Welcome to study at Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST). As a key base for cultivating international students supported by the Ministry of Education, P. R. China, HUST has cultivated over 8,000 reputable leaders and scholars in their respective fields for around 130 countries since 1960s.
We welcome students from a variety of backgrounds and appreciates that international students provide diverse perspectives and contribute to a dynamic learning atmosphere of HUST.
The application for 2017 autumn intake starts from March 15 to July 15,2017.
All the degree and non-degree programs in all schools and departments are offered in this season.
Eligibility and Requirements:
Degree or Certificate and Eligibility:
– Applicants for Bachelor’s degree must be senior high school graduates and be under the age of 25.
– Applicants for Master’s degree must have obtained Bachelor’s Degree and be under the age of 35.
– Applicants for Doctoral degree must have obtained Master’s Degree and be under the age of 40.
– Applicants for general scholar program should have completed at least 2 years of undergraduate study or have equivalent level of education and be under the age of 45.
– Applicants for senior scholar program should have obtained Master’s Degree or above and be under the age of 50.
– Applicants for Chinese language course should be senior high school graduates.
Language Proficiency:
English-medium Programs:
Good command of English. Applicants with good marks on TOEFL, GRE, IELTS or other official recognized test and proficiency certificate are preferred.
Chinese-medium Programs:
HSK 4 or above for Medicine, Engineering and Science.
HSK 5 or above for Chinese Literature, Economics, Management, Law, Education, History and Philosophy.

1. One photocopy of your passport;
2. An official certificate of your highest education; or an official Certificate of Enrollment for the ones at school;
3. An official transcripts;
4. Language Proficiency certificate.
Postgraduate Candidates and Scholars
1. One photocopy of your passport;
2. An official certificate of your highest education; or an official Certificate of Enrollment for the ones at school;
3. An official transcripts;
4. Study Plan or Research Proposal;
5. Two Recommendation Letters from your professors or associate professors;
6. Language Proficiency certificate.
Chinese Language Students
1. One photocopy of your passport;
2. An official certificate of your highest education.
Exchange Students from partner universities
1. One photocopy of your passport;
2. An official nomination letter from the university;
3. An official transcripts;
4. Study Plan or Research Proposal.
Note: Academic document issued in the third language should be verified in Chinese or English editions.

How to Apply
1.Login the Online Application at http://admission.hust.edu.cn/.
2. Upload the required documents and submit your application.
3. Once you are conditionally admitted, a notification would be delivered via the online system. As required, please finish the payment of application fee online.
4. Upon receiving the payment, the university will issue the Admission Notice and Visa Application Form in 10 working days.
Note: The documents uploaded should be true and valid. Uncompleted application would be rejected. The application fee for Exchange Students from Partner Universities is waived.

Application Fee
On receipt of the notification, all the applicants are required to pay the application fee of 600 RMB in 10 working days.
Note: Application fee is non-refundable.

After submitting your online application and be conditionally admitted, you will be notified of the payment in due time.
Wechat, Ali-Pay, Inter-bank transfer and International T/T are available.
Application fee could also be paid in cash at the International Student Office.
