TravelPeople is a travel organizer based in Jakarta with a focus in organizing trips to unique Indonesian destinations, and we service both Indonesian and overseas clients. What differentiates us from other travel agencies are; we focus on Indonesian destinations, and cater for a smaller groups from 2 to 15 people.

TravelPeople is founded in 2014 by Kennita Kurniawan and Monika Budiman, two best friends who loves travelling. While they have spent most of their adult time in Australia to study and work, currently they have decided to live in their hometown in Jakarta, Indonesia.

It is our belief that everyone should make time for travel, no matter how busy we are. We believe that apart from being a much-needed break, travel also exposes us to the world outside of our own, giving us a clearer perspective of life.

At the core of TravelPeople, we hope to raise more awareness of the many tourism destinations in Indonesia among fellow Indonesians & people of the world. While everyone is familiar with Bali, the world have been missing out on a lot of other beautiful, rich, meaningful destinations, spread across this amazing archipelago we call home.

ABOUT THE ROLE

General Overview

The Indonesian travel industry has a huge potential and we are not even close to maximizing it! The great thing is that recently the government has put more emphasis in tourism especially with the support of Jokowi and his Ten Key Destinations plan. It is now the best time to be in business – and we are excited to welcome a full time team member who would like to be part of this exciting industry.

Imagine waking up every day knowing that you’ll be working on researching some of the most exciting places in Indonesia, planning trips there, telling people about how great these places are, and having a chance to see these places yourself one day. Not only that, you will get to meet a lot of new people who comes from many different background who are passionate about traveling & are a fun bunch of people.

Sounds too good to be true? Well why not try and prove it yourself!

The Operational Assistant will be working closely with the owner of the business on a day-to-day basis. The position is based in Jakarta at our South Jakarta Office on Level 3 of Gerilya Coffee & Roastery, Jl Banjarsari no 8A. This is a full-time commitment with 5 working days of Monday to Fridays from 9 AM to 5 PM. However in some cases you will need to work on weekends and get Mondays off in-lieu.

Main Duties:

Open Trip Execution:

·       Help research and plan upcoming trips.

·       Create trip description & itinerary

·       Post trip on TravelPeople’s media

·       Manage participant registrations & follow up on payments

·       Communicate with vendors (venue, car rental) to finalize trip

·       Schedule & communicate with Host

Secondary Duties

·       Help to execute marketing activities

·       Manage client database

·       Send monthly e-newsletter

Desired Skills & Competency

·       Passionate about the travel industry in Indonesia

·       University fresh graduate from any background (S1/Bachelor Degree)

·       Good administration & execution skills: efficient, attention to details, multi-tasking

·       Good interpersonal & communication skills (in English and Bahasa)

·       Flexible, willing to learn & grow together with the business

·       Proficient in Microsoft Word & Excel. Skills in WordPress, Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop are highly valued and should be highlighted.

·       Any extra-curricular activities, achievements, work experience, internships and organizational experience are highly valued and should be highlighted.
