Teaching English to Indonesian Migrant Workers (TKI)
Cases of human rights violation against Indonesian migrant workers (TKI) in English-speaking countries are still rampant and one of the reasons for this is their poor command of English. A great number of domestic workers still have troubles communication with their employers or speaking with officers in public areas and in cases of emergency, many are reluctant or unable to report their cases due to the poor command of English. For those reasons, this online English course is put together and tailored toward helping TKI communicate with their employers effectively, communicate with officers in public places, and report their problems to NGOs or the authorities in case of emergency.
Requirements and Tasks :
1. Fluent in both written and spoken English
2. Willing to spare at least two hours/week to do online teaching
3. Willing to give constructive feedback to student’ works
4. Have the access to online teaching media (Whatsapp and Skype)
